"[An adult male] cougar was found dead near where two interstates meet in Bloomington in what state conservation officials say is an extremely rare verified instance of the big cat turning up in the Twin Cities area.
"The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recovered the adult male cougar about 6:45 Tuesday morning."

"Well, obviously Bloomington is a popular destination for cougars," says Gloria Guccifendi, professional shopper and local wildlife afficionado. "For heaven's sake, it's where the Mall of America is! Where else do you expect a cougar to shop?"
"We have many fans in the Cougar Community," a source at MOA's Macy's (name withheld on request) confirmed. "We like to say they're always 'on the prowl.' Haha, get it? On the prowl?"
"Absolutely we see cougars all the time," an assistant in Neimann Marcus's shoe department confirms. "Usually females, though. What those kitties will do for a pair of dress shoes, you wouldn't believe it. Last season I had to let a raccoon loose on the floor to break up a brawl between two females over the last pair of some Jimmy Choos. It was just lucky for me they were both hungry."
Police are combing the area for shopping bags, receipts and credit cards.
Well DIH, the "rewilding" of America continues.
