December 7

Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.  Seventy-nine years ago today the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service bombed the American naval base at Pearl Harbor, in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was eight o'clock on a Sunday morning. Over 2,400 Americans were killed, battleships were damaged or sunk. The next day, the United States formally entered World War II.

In a year like this it is easy to forget that we Americans have faced far greater challenges than Covid and botched elections. But we overcame them. In fact, we beat the pants off them.

Watch your back, 2020. We'll take care of you yet.
