Feline Drug Smuggler Escapes From High Security Prison
A cat taken in by Sri Lankan law enforcement on Saturday for smuggling illegal contraband into a high-security prison has now reportedly escaped.
The felonious feline was nabbed on Welikada Prison grounds with 1.7 grams of heroin, two SIM cards and a memory chip, rolled into a small plastic bag and tucked into its collar, according to local news sources.
Officers had hoped the cat would somehow lead them back to the drug den from whence it came. Unfortunately, the adept animal made a break while the holding cell door was open, as guards were attempting to feed it. Local authorities will not seek further investigation of the criminal cat.
